New Public Cigarette Butt Recycling Drop-Off in Ucluelet

The Surfrider Pacific Rim Foundation's "Hold On To Your Butt" Program has introduced a new convenient public cigarette drop-off location at the Arm Navy & Airforce Veterans Club. We encourage the public to please empty your cigarette butts into the large metal ’Surfrider’ collection can be located on the outside of the building. Cigarette butts will be collected once monthly for recycling. 

Join us in our commitment to protect the oceans beaches and waves by properly disposing of cigarette butts. Since 2017, the Hold On To Your Butt Program has recycled 1.4 million cigarette butts between Tofino and Ucluelet in partnership with TerraCycle Canada. This partnership aims to make responsible cigarette disposal easier than ever, preventing harmful litter from entering our community and coastal ecosystems.
